Copperlane Raises $4.1M Seed
Copperlane, an AI-native mortgage origination platform, has raised $4.1 million in seed funding. The company, which is developing autonomous AI mortgage loan technology, intends to use the capital to scale its operations and its AI-powered mortgage loan officer product, Penny.
The round was led by TQ Ventures, with participation from Y Combinator, US News Digital Ventures, Mercor, and Valon Mortgage.
Copperlane plans to use the new capital to scale Penny, its autonomous AI mortgage loan officer, and continue developing its platform to reduce document review and preapproval analysis times.
Founded in 2026 by Athan Zhang and Brianna Lin, Copperlane focuses on streamlining the mortgage process for lenders. Its core product, Penny, is an AI loan officer that autonomously analyzes borrower documents, income patterns, assets, and credit files to surface recommendations and draft necessary explanations for human staff.
