WeRize Raises $7M in Funding
WeRize, a fintech startup based in India, has announced a $7 million funding round as part of its Pre-Series C financing. The company operates an AI-native, full-stack platform designed to provide financial services, including credit, savings, and insurance, to underserved populations in small-city India.
The funding round was led by Sony Innovation Fund, with participation from 3one4 Capital.
WeRize plans to use the new capital to deepen the AI capabilities of its social distribution platform, expand its product suite, and prepare for entry into the public markets.
Founded in 2019 by Vishal Chopra and Himanshu Gupta, WeRize operates a platform that connects financial institutions with micro-entrepreneurs in Tier 2, 3, and 4 towns. The company utilizes a proprietary AI engine trained on extensive data points to underwrite financial products for customers who lack traditional credit histories.
